Deana Valente | Director

Deana Valente, more appropriately know as Coach D, is a lifelong advocate for kids’ fitness and programming. She believes that every child should be active and take time away from electronics to build real and meaningful connections. Coach D believes that fitness is a way for kids to express themselves, stay active and learn healthy habits. Her quest to blend fitness and kids programming led her to found and launch Camp Coconuts in the summer of 2012. The goal was simple, provide kids with an unforgettable experience where they can be themselves, unplug from the world of technology and create memories all while have fun! Throughout the years, Camp Coconuts has become a leader in kids summer camp programming having an array of activities that challenge kids to explore new sports, face fears and grow to new heights. When Coach Craig approached Coach D with the idea of launching a sleepaway camp, the answer was a no brainer! She is excited to launch Camp Kuokoa and create an experience that will allow campers to gain independence and make memories that last a lifetime.

Craig Doyle, a lifelong camper, and child at heart has a love for the camping world like no other! He believes that camp creates an environment where kids can go and be their truest selves. Coach Craig loves how the experiences at camp through different program activities allows for campers to try new things, make new friends, and unlock potential they didn’t know they had. In 2015, Coach Craig joined the Camp Coconuts team where he became a director overseeing the hiring and training of staff members as well as creating programming for the summer. Residential camp offers endless lessons that will help campers become more independent and push themselves to new limits all while having fun in a brand-new environment. He approached Coach D and Coach Bob with the exciting idea of opening Camp Kuokoa and immediately they were on board. Coach Craig is excited to bring the magic of camp and new experiences to Camp Kuokoa and is sure that campers will leave counting down the days until the next summer.
